An introduction to CSS3
Half Day workshop
CSS3 may seem like it is a long way off, especially with legacy browsers still in use. However, this course will show you how you can apply aspects of CSS3 today. You will learn about Progressive Enrichment, CSS3 transitions, a range of powerful new selectors and the future of web page layouts.
This half-day introductory workshop will provide an overview of some of the key aspects of CSS3:
- What is CSS3?
- The CSS3 modules
- CSS3 selectors and browser support
- Vendor-specific properties
- Color: opacity and alpha
- Backgrounds: background-size, background-image
- Borders: border-color, border-image, border-radius
- Boxes: gradients, box-shadow
- Fonts: @font-face, text-shadow
- Layouts: multiple columns, media queries
- Transforms
- CSS3 online code generators
There will also be some quick hands-on exercises at various times throughout the session so make sure you bring along a laptop with some sort of text editor (Notepad++, Coda, TextMate, Dreamweaver etc) and a good browser (Firefox, Safari, Opera etc).
